Savanna started repeating things I say sooner than I was expecting this to occur. The day I realized this was occurring, Montana had knocked me down, I hit my knee hard on the tile floor and exclaimed “Sh*t!” Next thing I know, Savanna repeats this word. I tell her not to say that word which I should have realized would do the complete opposite…Savanna proceeded to march around the room exclaiming “sh*t, sh*t, sh*t, sh*t!” Of course I wanted to laugh but couldn’t or that would encourage her to continue saying the word, so I told her not to say it. That did not work either. I find that if I slip and make a big deal about a word, she catches on to that, says the word loud and repeats it, looking right at you with a grin on her face. That expression she has says, “I know this is a bad word, so I am going to say it loud and say it proud!”
Every once in a while, I will hear her say “gosh dang it” or “Oh Geez” and other similar phrases, which are not bad, but I know she is not creating these; she is repeating what she hears. Note to self: be careful what you say around Savanna.
